Seems like that is the implication in this article to me.

Not for nothing does the precise relationship between Covers and betED remain a popular source of speculation."

Covers is a good place for Information

Covers is a lousy place for anything else. Spend 5 minutes in the Posting Forums and you will find the SINGLE DUMBEST GROUP OF BETTORS EVER!

betED had to have made a fortune if they booked just 10% of all bets posted in Covers' Forums. I hang out in the Forums to find picks to fade with "Colonel Jim", "Pronk", "BluePhinn" and "rekamyenoM" (Moneymaker spelled backwards - his Avatar is someone pouring Gasoline on themselves and lighting a match so they get on fire - something this clown does with Money all the time - his name should be "MoneyBURNER")

IF Covers endorsed a site - I would stay as far away from it as I could

So, you do no scientific handicapping of any kind? Simply handicap the handicappers? You track them, determine they are stupid/square and "Momma, there goes that man"!

Go to Covers and follow their posts and picks - you will quickly be able to see how right I am. For some reason Colonel Jim, has a GOD-like Status there when he is so stupid it hurts. Pronk has Jim Ignatowsky (sp?) from Taxi as his Avatar pic - which is appropriate because Iggy is smarter than Pronk. Blue is the smartest of these 4 but that's like saying someone is smarter than Jessica Simpson, Anna Nicole Smith (R.I.P.) and Paris Hilton. Moneymaker - spelled backwars - is easily the dumbest of the bunch although I highly doubt he plays the picks he posts because he isnt afraid to post -300+ priced plays that hit about 33% of the time at most.....if he played what he posted he'd have run out of money so long agao he'd never be able to play anything

Follow these BUMS and it won't take long to see they are the "Worst of the Worst"

I am not seeing how you can make money fading the last guy or making money by making bets and paying the juice on their best guy.

More proof coming out of Costa Rica, apparently the stiffed EX-employees are talking to everyone they can.

"Last week, Freedom announced that betED had been in negotiations with Heritage/BetHorizon to acquire betED’s database, but that these bailout talks had collapsed. Freedom encouraged Covers posters to ask Heritage “why it went sour.” When a poster subsequently claimed to have spoken with a Heritage VP who’d denied the company had been negotiating with betED. Freedom replied, “If that’s the way [Heritage] want to play it, I understand.” Which basically sums up our attitude toward Covers’ denial of betED ownership: if that’s the way Lavers and MacDonald want to play it, we understand."
