The guy that runs the show there is named Johnny Avello. If you bet the kind of money you say you do you would know him on a first name basis. Anyone betting even 2K per side knows him and he knows them. In my conversation with Johnny yesterday he said he's never heard of you and they haven't written a 75K ticket this week. bama - adam was pretty strong in his words. he seemed confident he could deliver on his promise to show you a $15k parlay ticket and his 75k play. i agreed with you...in vegas, it's soooooooooo hard to get in anything over 2k without them knowing your whole life story. lol. so just very hard for me to fathom that meyer is betting 1 million bucks around town on a single nfl play. let's hope he shows up.

If the story of your conversation with Avello is true, then only one of the following explanations can possibly be:

1. Avello really doesn't know Meyer and if this is true, he deserves to be fired.

2. Avello knows Meyer but doesn't trust you enough to talk to you about his big players.

The tickets that I posted a picture of are in my shirt pocket as I am typing this and I saw at least a half a dozen more for similarly sized wagers at the Wynn, including another 30k on Indy -4. Meyer wouldn't let me have that one for some reason even though I tried to take it. ;)

I went to the counter with Meyer and witnessed him place another 30k parlay and every single clerk was watching. He was greeted by name and both suits behind the counter stepped over to give his wager immediate approval, also calling him by name.

Look, I have no agenda here and have certainly been no fan of Meyer as he pointed out in the following response to the PM I sent him about meeting up with him this weekend:

When I saw BamaBoys post earlier, I had just gotten out of the shower and was getting ready to head out to watch the afternoon NFL games somewhere. I haven't left the Hard Rock since I checked in on Friday afternoon and was feeling a little restless. I called Adam and told him I would be at the Wynn sportsbook at 1:00 and what I was wearing. When I got there I immediately saw him and we talked for a while and during our conversation, he showed me his betting tickets for the day. I will have to say that he was a very pleasant person to talk to and his approximately six year old son who strolled over from an adjacent restaurant was a very well mannered young man as well.

When we parted company at around 1:35, I walked through the shops and across the street to the Venetian to pre-register for a week long conference that begins there in the morning. On the way, I happened to pass the Venetian Business Center so I went in, had them scan the tickets and logged on to post them.

I never saw BamaBoy. Another possibility is that he does not know Avello and never had a conversation about Meyer with him. As I said above, Adam is clearly well known by the staff at Wynn's sportsbook. I am not really into the kind of drama that has surrounded Meyer since his appearance on the EOG scene but I think that it has been clear since the beginning that he did not understand the dynamics of posting on a gambling discussion forum and that lack of understanding about this world has led to him gaining numerous detractors. Certainly his bragadocious attitude has contributed to the poor reception that he has earned here, not to mention the string of loosers he originally posted.

I have no dog in this hunt and am only here to confirm that he is not lying about the size of his wagers. The losing tickets in my pocket will come in very handy when it is time to file my income tax return as I won a big progressive jackpot last spring in Reno and now that money is tax free.

Thanks for the update. Maybe this will help clear up the forum's perception of Mr Meyer. I still don't care for touts but at least he seems to a man who keeps his word and that counts for something.
